New CAS-inspired book art

Hello, all

Let me bring to your worthy attention the art from the new Russian three-volume edition of Clark Ashton Smith stories: One, Two, Three. The majority of stories are accompanied by a drawing. The web-quality scans can be opened from the thumbnails under the cover image. Most of them can be magified futher by a mouse click while the cursor is a magnifying glass. See if you can attribute a story to each drawing!

Will the administrator of eldritchdark.com consider adding this artwork to the gallery devoted to Art from Books or to works Inspired by C.A.S? If need be, I can facilitate the negotiations by working as a transator between the administrator on one side and the publisher and artists on the other.

Sure. I'll play, though I'm sure not very well. I'm not considering the cover images, which I guess do not relate to any specific story.

BOOK ONE
2nd image: No clue. Who could that possibly be? (just kidding).
3rd image: ??? I guess somewhere in Zothique?
4th image: "Ubbo Sathla"?
5th image: ???
6th image: "The Colossus of Ylourgne"
7th image: ???
8th image: "The Tale of Satampra Zeiros"
9th image: "The Ice Demon"?
10th image: "The Coming of the White Worm"
11th image: ???
12th image: ? "The Double Shadow"?

BOOK TWO
2nd image: ? somewhere in Averoigne ?
3rd image: Is that the lamia of Averoigne, from "The End of the Story"?
4th image: I guess we're still in Averoigne. "The Maker of Gargoyles"?
5th image: ???
6th image: ???
7th image: Are those the robed ghoul priests from "The Charnel God"?
8th image: ??? (creepy!)
9th image: ???
10th image: ???
11th image: "The Weaver in the Vault"?

BOOK THREE
3rd image: ???
4th image: "Genius Loci"
5th image: ???
6th image: ???
7th image: ???
8th image: "The Flower Women" ?
9th image: ???
10th image: ???
11th image: ???
12th image: ???
13th image: ???

Thanks for showing us the pictures.

I think none of us have heard from the administrator in quite some time. So if he does not respond, don't assume he is being rude.

Hello Russia!

Nice work!

5: "A Vintage From Atlantis"
6: "The Colossus of Ylourgne"
7: "A Voyage to Sfanomoë"
8: "The Tale of Satampra Zeiros"
9: "The Ice Demon"
10: "The Coming of the White Worm"
11: "Mother of Toads"
12: "The Double Shadow"

Two
1: Dead Martian
2: "The Charnel God"
3: "The Witchcraft of Ulua"
4: "The Black Abbot of Puthuum"
5: "The Dark Eidolon"
6: "The Dweller in the Gulf"
7: "The Isle of Torturers"
8: "The Last Hieroglyph"
9: "The Garden of Adompha"
10: "The Vaults of Yoh-Vombis"

Three
1: Some thing in Mool Dweb's garden?
2. same
3. "The Chain of Aforgomon"
4. "Genius Loci"
5. "The Ninth Skeleton"
6. "The Immeasurable Horror"
7. "The Hunters From Beyond"
8. "The Flower-Women"
9. "Sadastor"
10. "The Hunters From Beyond"
11. "Marooned in Andromeda"
12. "The Planet of the Dead"
13. "The Seed From the Sepulcher"

Hello all,

I got the following message from Anton Shepelev. Perhaps someone can help?

"Pray pardon my contacting you directly by e-mail. I do it because
after my initial post the forum will not accept any subsequent
message of mine. The "Post message" button brings me back to
Message List, but my submission does not appear. With the
administrator not manifesting any signs of existence, I am quite in
a quandary -- cannot even report my problem. Would you be so kind
as to describe my situation in that thread lest people do not
misjudge my silence rude?

As to Boyd Pearson, has anyone tried to contact him by other means
than those provided at the website? What about trying to reach him
through the Estate of Clark Ashton Smith and Arkham House -- the
legal entities have granted him the right to host the works of
Smith?"

I've encountered a similar problem. I think it may result from having too many windows open at the site, but I'm not sure. In any event, I am now able to post again. I cannot say I'm sure how I solved it, but I did close down open windows, and that may have had something to do with it. Maybe he can also try logging out and logging in again.

Neither granted him the right. Both granted him permission. I hereby grant him my permission as well.
