CP in Night Wire

Hello.

In reading "Night Wire" by H. F. Arnold, 1926, I came across two letters "CP" which are stated at the beginning of the messages (New York, September 30 CP: FLASH: "Ambassador Holliwell died here today"; Xebico, Sept 16 CP BULLETIN: "The heaviest mist in the history of the city settled over the town at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon ...".) Can anybody know what it could mean? Something like Control Post?

According to the following Wikipedia article, "CP" is code for a general call to two or more specified stations:
