I found this by accident when looking for something to watch last night on Amazon Prime. It was made in 2008.

This is a decently made documentary, minimalizing sensationalism, and with a fair degree of objectivity. It does, in fact, speculate that a combination of his early childhood and his views on race/ethnicity, formed an impetus toward the direction he took in his stories.

The documentarians are aware of his periods of creativity and the differing styles and infleunces, and also who Lovecraft subsequently influenced.

There are many old photos of his fellow pulp writers and his places of residence.

If you have not already seen it, I recommend it. It's not a waste of 90 minutes. At the very least, it makes concrete his appearance and his surroundings, and also creates a useful timeline.
