If anyone is interested, the August Derleth Festival (called "Walden West") will be held this year on Oct 14 & 15 at Sauk City, Wisconsin, near Madison. For details, check out derleth.org.

Events will include a showing of the "Call of Cthulhu" film and a demonstration of the Arkham Horror game, which will utilize both the original 1987 edition as well as the current (2005) edition. Both of these take place Saturday afternoon.

The "weird tales" aspect of Derleth will get quite a bit of attention, but other aspects of Derleth's work, such as his Thoreau-esque nature writing, will also be addressed.
