I might add that I don't expect my book for another 1-2 weeks -- at least.

Martinus!

I am old enough to remember Australia Post delivering twice daily. Now we are lucky that they still deliver once a day.

Every second day? I've a hankering for some spankering!

Martinus,
I live in Germany and have received my copy last Tuesday so hopefully you don't have to wait too long.

P.S. Scott, you're doing a marvelous job

Thanks for the kind words, Tobias -- I'm moved by your faith in the Swedish Postal Service. However, one thing I've learned is that when the USPS says "4-6 weeks to reach address in Sweden", it actually means "not less than 8 weeks, probably about 10". And the delay is on this side of the Atlantic -- always. I could relate some real horror stories about mail-related incompetence, but this is not the right place for it, and besides I'm sure no-one would be interested.

Whohooo!! The mail was late today, and guess what?!

Finally -- the end of my long waiting, and THE END OF THE STORY!

Sweet heavens above, what a beauty. Worth waiting for!

The proverbial hat is off to Mr. Smith for writing the stories in the first place, Messrs. Connors & Hilger for editing the book, and Messrs. Lassen & Williams for publishing it, and Mr. Van Hollander for the magnificent cover art, and to anyone else who's been involved in the making of this gorgeous piece of literary jewelry. Well done! I prostrate myself before you.

Let's hope now that the other volumes will get here a bit quicker...

Reading these early CAS stories for the first time it is striking to me how quickly he hit the ground running compared to many other genre writers. I was thinking that many of these would be slightly clunky without his later polish, but this work is (in the main) of excellent quality. Certainly better than early Lovecraft IMO. Looking forward to vol 2!

"Looking forward to vol 2!"

Goes to the printer on April 26, and will be in the Diamond warehouses this June.
