Stories that would make a good poem?

I'm currently working on a poem based on The Garden of Adompha (having finished poems of HP Lovecraft's Under the Pyramids and Robert E Howard's The Mirrors of Tuzun Thune).

What other stories do people think would make good poems? Not necessarily Clark Ashton Smith ones, but they would have to be in the public domain.

Try the "Great God Awto" - or "Schizoid Creator"

however, it would seem to me to be even more fun to turn a poem (like Nero, or Not Altogether Sleep) into a tale.

Thanks. How can I find out their copyright status?

Clark's works are all in domain, however, it is customary to make a request of the estate - check with Scott - though for this kind of borrowing it really is not necessaary, just polite.
