while reading the letters, I noticed that the enumeration of the letters jumps from 42 to 44 - is this a typo, or is letter #43 missing?

What's the book title and where is it available from?

I assume he's referring to this title:

which (technically) is available for purchase used, but the price tag is a tad high....

I am referring to the Writings → Correspondence section of the site, the source given there is

I cannot answer your question, but seeing a post about the correspondence brought back fond memories - I personally delivered these for Clark to the NY Public Library, and mention my experience with them in my memoirs in The Sword of Zagan -
It warms my heart to see them being read and researched - bravo!
