Noting that our new guy likes to be relieved of his funds prompts me
at last to yield some of my treasures.
Before going on ebay, I thought best to offer my fellow devotees
first crack at the following CAS books:
1. The Double Shadow - Auburn Journal Press,1933 - signed "For William
Farmer, hoping he will like some of these fantasies, from Clark Ashton
Smith Nov.15th, 1957
2. Sandalwood - Copy number 48 of 250, printed by the Auburn Journal,
Oct. 1925, Signed - (This was hard to get even in the 50's - Clark
had none to give or sell - my copy was given to me by Ethel Heiple.
3. Ebony and Crystal - Signed as copy number 147 of 500, signed in the
front: "For Bill, with the regards of the after-holiday season. from
Clark Ashton Smith 1957 - 1958 (I spent New Years with Clark and Carol
that year - my Freshman year in college).
4. The Star Treader - 1912 Philopolis Press - Signed in very upright
and formal script by 18 year old Clark -Clark Ashton Smith, Auburn, Cal
Nov. 25th, 1912 -- and in his usual handwriting - For Bill Farmer,
this pale-bound volume of yesteryear, from Clark Ashton Smith -
Sept. 14th, 1958
I am not setting a price, you guys know the market as well as I - as
gifts to me from a very dear friend, they are hard to part with; yet
I feel they belong in the hands of those who will treasure them until
they too have reached an age where they may go on to another "keeper
