Is "The Colossus of Ylourgne" still under copyright?

Looks like it was published in 1934, so the copyright would have expired in 1962 unless it was renewed.

Did it get renewed, or did the copyright lapse?

If it's not in the public domain, who owns the rights?

It is certainly in domain, however, courtesy requires that the executor of the Smith estate be contacted if you have any interest in reproducing the text - that would be Mr. Dorman, stepson of Clark. I am sure Scott Connors and Ron Hilger have his current contact information, and would consider helping you get in touch with him.
