Agreed, Dexterward, re. Crowley. I'd add that there's really no comparison between him and LaVey. Crowley, though certainly a flawed individual, was a much more interesting, learned, and versatile character than that San Francisco circus clown. If nothing else, Crowley and CAS could have talked about mountaineering, which Crowley did quite well, and poetry, which Crowley didn't do so well, though he chose an interesting master (Swinburne) to emulate.
