Opus 1743

Phillip A. Ellis

Nothingness.

The name is enough to make me see
dreams dissolving to greyness sere,

the name is enough to spurn happy and dree
alike; I shall not be joyful, nor shall I fear.

Nothingness.

I shall embrace the void beyond voids, for
I was to be born for nothingness at last.

Nothingness it is that I shall adore,
nothingness to erase present, future, past.

Nothingness.

O void who has come to succour my soul,
come and take me and ferry me away,

come and take me, my every part and whole,
come and take me I pray-I pray-I pray.

Nothingness.
