Opus 1655

Phillip A. Ellis

Stars, like gods undreamt before,
shine upon this foreign shore
breathing diamond light before

half-aquatic merbeasts roam
through the dark-occulted foam
writ anent in eldritch tomes

read alone by starlight white
whilst the demons of the night
name the stars anew, delight

fair seducing demon hearts
with the dark delightful arts
snaring stars’ uncaring hearts.
