July 9th, 2021, Nashua, NH – Seven gold-plated horror-themed statues go on sale July 20th as part of the “Cthulhu Rises” Kickstarter campaign, an online fundraiser by Nashua startup Polyglot Studios. The seven one-of-a-kind, beautifully sculpted figurines will be secretly marked for authenticity, and are based upon the writings of master storyteller Howard Phillips Lovecraft.

Lovecraft was a New Englander who pioneered a new genre of literary fiction in the 1920s-1930s. His audience now numbers in the hundreds of millions worldwide. Polyglot co-founders Eric Smith and Chris LeBlanc collaborated with a global team of sculptors to create original interpretations of Lovecraft’s “Old Ones” as custom resin sculpts. The collection includes a gigantic 400mm tall painted Cthulhu diorama, as well as special promotional Easter eggs such as the “Dire Hydrated Iron Oxide Beast” (rust monster) which will appeal to Dungeons and Dragons enthusiasts, and a “shoggoth snow globe”. While the gold figures are one-of-a-kind, a limited run of 1000 hand-painted editions and 1000 unpainted editions are being offered through the Kickstarter. Similar figurines already sell online for as much as US$600 apiece.

The team has also partnered with master Unreal engine artists and programmers at RPG Scenery to offer free downloadable animated battlemaps just for visiting the Kickstarter.

Cthulhu Rises will be available from July 20th until September 20th, 2021.
